it's wedding day!

As you're reading this, I'm getting ready to walk down the aisle to my sweet groom! Wanted to give you a sneak preview of my dress before the wedding recaps to come...

At first Andrew was the annoying boy who playfully shot rubberbands at me from across the room in history class, and now he's my forever partner. I can't help but love this section of "Love Does," by Bob Goff:

Because of our love for each other, I understand just a little more how God has pursued me in creative and whimsical ways that initially did not get my attention. Nevertheless, He wouldn't stop. That's what love does-- it pursues blindly, unflinchingly, and without end. When you go after something you love, you'll do anything ot get it, even if it costs everything.

Thank you, Andrew, for showing me a picture of God's love for me. I cannot wait to glorify Him in our new life together!

For the last time....

friday five

So I'm trying realllllllly hard to be better at this whole blogging thing. There's lots going on but I just love random posts like this so I'm going to share with y'all my "Friday Five" and what I'm thinking about these days!

1. We're at 8 days until the wedding, people! We celebrated single digits last night with a super casual dinner date to one of our favorite sandwich places, Groucho's! Their sweet tea is the best and the Formula 45 sauce they put on their subs is to die for. I was a happy girl!

2. I might be semi-obsessed with this ivory flower necklace from Swell Caroline. I've seen the J.Crew ones all over and I think this neutral one would be perfect with almost any outfit! I'm still debating whether or not to buy it, but considering married life comes with a major budget, I think I may go for it while I still can!

3. I babysat for my RUF minister's little girl Cate on Wednesday while he was in all-day meetings and his wife was with a best friend after she went into labor. This morning I got the sweetest email from the father of the new baby, who I have never met before. His thank you was unnecessary but brought so much joy to me:

4. My bridesmaids are the BEST. My maids of honor and my cousin Sarah came over this week to help us put together favors for the reception and I cannot even begin to express how thankful I am for them. I am so looking forward to the luncheon in their honor in exactly one week!

5. I've gotten on a kick (excuse the pun) at the gym lately in a kickboxing-ish class called BodyCombat. I'm going a couple times a week and surprisingly, I love it! I've never been super coordinated or athletic, but I don't suck at it! Granted, I don't look like these intense guys and gals, but I can pretend, right? :)

Happy Friday, everyone! Hope your weekend is great :)

10 days left on this wedding wednesday!

10 days, y'all...

...until I marry this handsome fella!

Now that we're down to the final stretch, it's finally hitting me that soon I'll be Mrs. M and all my friends and family we be together in one place to celebrate!! It still blows my mind after many months of engagement.

I've tried really hard these past few weeks to catch up with friends I haven't seen lately over coffee and meals and most of them always ask me, "So what all is left to do? Are you stressed?!" And the answer is not much, and no, not really! There's only so much you can do once you get down to the final countdown, and so uncharacteristic of me, I'm not too worried about any of the little details. At the end of the day, it will be a beautiful ceremony, I'll have seen all the ones I love in one place, and I'll be married... what more could I want? With that being said, there are still a few small errands I need to do, so I'll share these for one of my final "Wedding Wednesday" posts:

Give the "ok" on ceremony programs to print
Tie ribbons to ceremony programs
Finish packaging favors & figure out how to display
Print inserts for frames next to favors, guestbook, etc.
Encourage our wedding hashtag: #McCallsGetMarried !
Find shoes to wear to reception... no heels for me!
Practice first dance with Andrew
Finalize weekend schedule
Finalize photo list for photographer
Pack for honeymoon!

See?! Just a bunch of little things that before you get married, you never really think of! Looks like I'll be running all around town the rest of this week and next and making some calls!

Any advice from my now married (or even soon-to-be married!) blog friends?!

bachelorette weekend recap!

So I'm two weeks late, but I didn't want to miss out on sharing the fun that was my bachelorette weekend! I have two Maids of Honor (I am just the luckiest!!! :) ), my best friends Parkes and Natalie from high school:

The "Trio," as we call ourselves!

It took a lot of coordination because of my maids being spread out all over the south, but they planned an incredible Memorial Day weekend bachelorette bash in Hilton Head Island, one of my favorite places in the world! We stayed at a beautiful Marriott condo with beach access and multiple pools that we took advantage of on our first full day there.

The first night we were sort of waiting for everyone to arrive (poor Martha got stuck in ATL traffic and spent about 9 hours in the car from Nashville!) so we took it easy and headed to a Hilton Head classic, the Salty Dog! We enjoyed fruity drinks as we waited for our order from Jake's Pizza to arrive and nommed on some awesome pepperoni slices as we caught up, people watched, and spent some quality time together. Of course, no visit to the famous Salty Dog Cafe is complete without a stop in the gift shop, and we all came away with some goodies!

After our low-key dinner, we came back to the room to hang out and my MOHs organized a couple group games to test how well I knew Andrew and how well my maids knew me! It was hilarious and a great way to break the ice for the girls who didn't know each other as well!

I bought all the girls the incredibly cute mason jar tumblers I've seen everywhere and personalized them with their monograms on a ribbon that matched the color of their bridesmaids dresses. They were a hit and a staple the whole weekend!

After a long day in the sun on our second day together we came back to the room and got ready for our big night out! We had reservations at my favorite Mexican restaurant on the island, Aunt Chilada's, and enjoyed some yummy drinks, tacos, and burritos for our dinner. After dinner we went to Frosty Frog's, a pizza joint and slushie place right down the street. Of course, with my pink sash and my ginourmous posse with me, we were noticed by everyone in the bar/restaurant and were well taken care of. Our bartender was fondly referred to as "Jimmy Neutron" by the locals because of his outrageous hairstyle, but the locals we met were characters themselves! I had a delicious peach slushie and we all had a great time mingling and being silly, just as girls do on bachelorette parties!

my Wofford girls! (minus Lea!)

my sweet cousin, Sarah, and my MOHs at Frosty Frogs!

girls just wanna have fun!

We headed back to the room not terribly late and just hung out, had a mini dance party, the usual! I was sad when all my girls had to leave the next morning, but it was so wonderful having all of them together at one time before the wedding (minus Lea, who was off having European adventures... but she was certainly missed!)! I was so pleased that my friends from different parts of my life all got along so well and had so much fun together. I have the most wonderful group of maids and I cannot imagine this fun time without them-- it makes me even more excited for the wedding weekend!

all the girls, minus Lauren and Lea!

Speaking of wedding...
only 22 days to go!!!!!

Sorry I've been MIA lately... isn't it funny how life gets in the way sometimes? I've missed blogging and will try to keep y'all more updated on my last days as Miss K! Happy weekend, my friends!
